New SAFEPARKS/PARKSEC Board Signs

Thank you to those residents who provided details for new signs to be put up. Your details has been forwarded to CORTAC and they will contact you directly to arrange for the Parksec/Safeparks board to be put up from next week 28 August 2017. The following includes crimes reported to us over the period

Parkhurst

 

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle occurred on 5th avenue, when a white VW Polo was parked outside.
  • All other crime incidents were reported directly to SAPS Parkview and thus further information is not available.

Parktown North

 

  • Attempted vehicle theft occurred on 10th avenue, CORTAC were patrolling and a member of the public alerted them to a red VW Polo GTI trying to steal a SILVER VW Polo parked on the street, CORTAC gave chase and the suspects sped away.
  • Home Invasion occurred on Sutherland Avenue, 3 African males wearing blue t-shirts and posing as contractors in a white bakkie (make unknown) rang the intercom and said they were coming to fix DSTV equipment, the domestic worker opened and was tied up by the suspects. The suspects took a TV, music system and other valuables.
  • All other crime incidents were reported directly to SAPS Parkview and thus further information is not available.

Alerts/Hotspots

  • ALERT all domestics and gardeners to not open for contractors in a white bakkie (make unknown) who are posing to come fix the DSTV or any other story for that matter. PARKVIEW SAPS believe that the Home Invasion in Sutherland Avenue is linked to 2 other incidents in the last month in Parkview and Parkhurst, These guys are doing their rounds.
  • Employees MUST phone you first to check or the contracter must call you when they are at your house and then you will call your employee to give authority to have access to your home.
  • Please DO NOT park your vehicles by Solly Kramers Parking area (Corner 4th avenue and 6th street) when visiting restaurants – this is a HOTSPOT for vehicle theft.
